Designing the Next Chapter in Jaipur

Designing the Next Chapter in Jaipur

For me, Jaipur isn’t just a destination; it’s the heartbeat of everything we do at Constance & Denny. It’s where heritage meets a wild, unbridled love for colour. On my recent journey, I retraced some old favourite steps and discovered a few new corners of this soulful city.

Where to Rest Your Head

Niravi Jaipur
A true sanctuary. Staying here feels like being tucked away in a private haveli, surrounded by greenery and quiet luxury. It’s the perfect place to decompress after a day of sourcing in the bustling bazaars.

For the Love of Craft & Curation

You can’t visit Jaipur without paying homage to the masters craft.
  • Anokhi (KK Square): A classic for a reason. Their commitment to preserving traditional techniques is what inspires us every day.
  • The PDKF Store: Located within the City Palace, this is a must-visit. It supports the Princess Diya Kumari Foundation, empowering local women through craft. The designs are fresh, bright, and deeply meaningful.
  • Lotus Veda & Indian Art House: For those who love the "find," the Indian Art House is a treasure trove of vintage paintings that capture the regal history of Rajasthan.
  • A Secret Find: If you’re looking for that perfect finishing touch, seek out Mr. Vinod at Ribbon Joy. It’s a kaleidoscope of trims and tassels that would make any textile lover’s heart skip a beat.

Long Lunches & Dreamy Dinners

  • The Johri: Tucked inside a restored 19th-century haveli in the jewellery bazaar, the food here is as refined as the interiors.
  • Bar Palladio: Perhaps the most "Instagrammed" spot in India, and for good reason. That iconic blue-on-blue decor is the ultimate masterclass in colour. It’s the only place to be for a sundowner.
  • For a slower pace: Head to Anokhi Café for organic salads (a nice break from the spice!) or 28 Kothi’s Cafe Kothi for a serene, boutique garden vibe.

Moments of History

No trip is complete without a wander through the City Palace. Looking at the intricate doorways and the royal textiles on display reminds me why we do what we do. Every pattern tells a story that spans centuries.
Jaipur isn't just a place on a map; it's a feeling of creative abundance. I’ve come home with a suitcase full of inspiration (and maybe a few too many ribbons!) that I can’t wait to pour into our next collection.

From the Artisan’s Hand to Your Home

I also spent some time with our incredible team of artisans. There is something truly meditative about watching a master printer align a hand-carved wooden block by eye, heart, and steady hand.
I’ve shared a few snapshots here of our latest creations. You can see the slight variations in the ink, the "charming "imperfections" that tell you a human hand.

When you lay a Constance & Denny tablecloth for a Sunday lunch, you’re not just setting the table; you’re bringing a piece of Jaipur’s living history into your home.
